Rodan and Fields Unblemish review

Overall score : 2.5

The premise behind Rodan and Fields Unblemish is basically the same as that behind Proactiv – a three-step process designed to clean, exfoliate, and protect the skin as a way to fight acne. Made popular primarily because of its NATURAL exotic ingredients like fish collagen, rosemary extract, and witch hazel water, there is little doubt that for Kathy and Katie the Rodan + Fields products lines have been hugely successful therefore the quantity of repeat customers they can count on seems to suggest that many people get good results too, but it's unlikely that this is a product line that is an affordable option for most people because of the high pricing. User reviews for Unblemish seem to rate it below its cousin, Proactiv. In short, as far as acne treatments go, Unblemish is not a bad choice and could work well for individuals in need of acne assistance but doesn't provide a great value for money. We recommend Exposed Acne skincare over Unblemish.

Dr. Rodan and Dr. Fields are the Makers of Proactiv Solution and Proactiv + for acne, These acne products are sold in 181 countries and Proactiv owns 86% of the acne treatment market, They have helped millions of people and will continue to do so.

The Unblemish product of the Rodan + Fields Premium skin care line is their premium acne product and has been claimed to be the # 1 Premium acne treatment in the USA.

The majority of the Rodan and Fields Dermatologists products are ‘regimens’, meaning they work together and they are pretty cool in that they have numbers on them so you are sure not to miss the order of how the product should be used.

The UNBLEMISH Regimen features four full-size products: Acne Treatment Sulfur Wash 125 mL/4.2; Spot Fading Toner 125 mL/4.2 OR Clarifying Toner 125 mL/4.2; Dual Intensive Acne Treatment 2 x 22.5 mL/.76; and Oil Control Lotion SPF 20 30 mL/1 (Rodan + Fields website)

The premise behind Unblemish is basically the same as that behind Proactiv – a three-step process designed to clean, exfoliate, and protect the skin as a way to fight acne.

The first step involves the Acne Treatment Sulfur Wash, which is somewhat unique in that it uses 3% sulfur as the main active ingredient. Herbal ingredients are also included in this wash.

The Clarifying Toner uses several herbals, such as fish collagen, rosemary extract, and witch hazel water, to tone the skin (the user should not rinse this toner off after application).

The final step in the process is to use the Benzoyl Peroxide Treatment, which naturally has 2.5% benzoyl peroxide as the active ingredient (the maximum amount that can be used without a prescription).

This product process should be used continuously; stopping the process could result in the acne returning.

Unblemish can be purchased either on the official Unblemish website or by direct selling. It is not clear how long a kit will last, but it will cost $101, plus shipping.

Things to keep in mind

Despite rumors on the marketplace, retinoids can’t be used effectively with benzoyl peroxide or acidic products like AHAs or L-ascorbic acid , since they inactivate the benzoyl peroxide. However, each of these ingredients can have respective potent on-the-spot acne-fighting and lightening, tightening, and brightening effects when used separately on alternating times of the day, days of the week, or in different skin care regimens altogether.

There is no doubt that for Kathy and Katie the Rodan + Fields products lines have been hugely successful therefore the quantity of repeat customers they can count on seems to suggest that many people get good results too, but it’s unlikely that this is a item line that is a viable option for most people, perhaps because of the high pricing.

If you wish to use Unblemish Acne Treatment Sulfur Wash you have to be careful in order to avoid getting the product into your eyes or nose, and you additionally need to make use of a moisturizer to avoid excessive drying and peeling of your skin.

The creamy texture of the facial cleanser is viewed as unpleasant and ineffective. Also, the sulfur can give off a strong smell that can be equally unpleasant.

Many users, say that Unblemish does its job against mild acne, although it can take months for some before the full effects can be realized. In short, as far as acne treatments go, Unblemish is not a bad choice and could work well for individuals in need of acne assistance.

As a professional esthetician for many years with many clients, i checked out this line and yes, found it to be too basic and over the counter results…and did not like the idea that it was marketed multi level…however, that being said, i do have a few clients who have used the anti aging line and their skin looks really good and they love the product!

I’ve used Proactiv a few times with success and they costs around $19.99. The new Rodan and Fields acne line Unblemish is a whopping $160 for four products. So first i would recommend cut out dairy and sugar(both inflammatory) and get on a good probiotic (gut health shows on outside) then I use young Living purification essential oil if I get a breakout(if I eat dairy) then use arbonne new formulated re9 skincare line.

This is the worst acne line I’ve ever used…I could have soaked my face in vegetable oil every night and gotten less pimples then what these products did for me. Bottom line, the ingredients are proven acne fighters (always avoid sycilic acid with the spot fading toner contains sycilic acid, the damage from sycilic acid after prolonged use is being studied and studies are showing the damage is great from this acid) if this line would work for you, I’ll give you some MONEY saving advice, buy a sulfur bar for your face wash, purchase a toner designed for acne (clean and clear has a good toner), buy a 5% benzoyl peroxide cream (use the products in this order)…daytime routine add a sunscreen with a oil reducer and you’ve got the Rodan and fields unblemish line for under 50$!

i’m jumping on the band wagon and trying it out!And I’m going to share my progress with you! I want to post some before and after shots so you can see how they work on an actual person you know. (I hate reading reviews and shocking results from people I don’t know. I’m super skeptical.) And before you freak out about the price (because yes, that almost turned me off from trying it), I’ve been told the package will last you 2-3 months once you get your acne under control. So while $175 (about every 2 months) might seem CRAZY, I was easily spending around $60/month on various products (face wash, creams, make-up concealers, primers, etc) that didn’t even work! So a little extra cash for something that actually might work is totally worth it to me. And as I go through this process I’ll report back on how far these products actually stretch

For the most part, I still use all 4 products every day. Sometimes at night I use a generic over the counter face-wash just to stretch the use of my R+F face-wash out a little longer since it seems to be the product I run out of first. That allows me to continue getting 2 months’ use out of each regimen pack I order. One thing I’ve noticed too, is not only is my acne under control, but my skin hasn’t gotten as dry during these cold winter months like it normally does. In the past, my face would get very dry during the winter, especially around my lips and nose. I would try just using a light-weight moisturizer but that sometimes wasn’t enough. And the heavier moisturizers would always trigger my break-outs. So it was a battle during the winter between dry skin and breakouts. Not anymore! The Unblemish moisturizer is light enough that my skin doesn’t feel oily, but rich enough to battle the bitter cold air.

It’s been a while since I last posted about them, but I have continued using them and I can happily say the results haven’t faded 🂠I have been acne-free for almost 6 months now!!! And that’s even with all the crazy pregnancy hormones 😉 I haven’t been able to say that since…well, ever since I started getting acne almost 15 years ago! I have total confidence in the R+F system, and there’s so many more products I haven’t even tried yet.

I have used a multitude of products over the past 24 years and my skin started changing again 3 yrs ago and as always followed up with my dermatologist for sun damage, Melasma, and uneven skin tone and aging skin in my 40’s and at first I was very doubtful trying yet another product but then I slowly started seeing results, by no means quickly but with consistent usage in the recommended easing into it, after a full year using Age assault Redefine regiment with the AMP roller and the step 3 Reverse…now 2 years later my skin looks and feels amazing and I no longer wear concealer????

While I still get a breakout here and there (let’s be realistic), my skin is significantly better than it usually is and I know it will just keep getting better the longer I use it. While the regimen can seem expensive at first (it’s around $150 for Perks members), keep in mind that you are getting a 60-day supply of 4 products, which actually ends up being pretty cheap.

I have been using the Rodan+Fields UNBLEMISH Regimen with astonishing results; having, not only cleared up acne but even impressing at the way it makes my skin appear.
