It Works Body Wraps Review: Does it really work for weight loss?

Overall score : 2.1

If it's a weight loss product, this would be one of the most ridiculous weight loss products out there. However, a closer look at the product reveals it is marketed as skin tightening/contouring product. There may be some temporary cosmetic changes at the skin surface, but these should not be confused with fat or weight loss. The wraps are generally safe, notwithstanding any underlying medical conditions which might be worsened by the wraps. Weight loss results are not clinically proven and if any, are only for the short term. The body wraps can cause a temporary loss of water from the area where you use it. However, it would not take long for the fluid to flow back to the area and restore the original position. The company is silent about this aspect. There is a no return policy unless the product is unused/unopened. Whether or not the product "works" depends on your own expectations. Online reviews are divided down the middle with slightly more negative reviews than positive ones.

Editor’s Note:-We note that some consumers might think this is a weight loss product (their expectations based on their interpretation of advertising). Actually, the company IT works has failed to be a bit more deliberate and transparent by explicitly telling their customers (or potential customers) that these products are not intended for fat or weight loss (i.e., skin tightening and localized dehydration are not the same as fat reduction).

Honestly, it’s a skin tightening and body contouring product, as mentioned in their product description – It works body applicator, defining gel, Redefines the appearance of your body’s contours.

If you are interested in IT works body wraps, and Ultimate Body Applicator, we recommend you check out TheBetaSwitch program for women.

IT works: Sorry it doesn’t!

If IT works would be a weight loss product, it would be one of the most ridiculous weight loss products out there.

So, if you consider it to be skin tightening/contouring product, you won’t be too disappointed.

So, it’s NOT exactly a permanent weight loss wrap.

‘It Works’? Whether you have heard it or not, you should know that ‘It Works’ does not work at all for weight loss.

The claims by the multilevel marketing company that sells the same are that it can clear the toxins as well as vaporize your belly fat.

This product succeeds in playing on the minds of those who are fat and wish to lose weight. Of course, we agree that such people can get desperate to lose weight. Thus, they tend to believe in such claims. They would go to any extent to lose weight. There is a chance that the Company is cashing on this desperation and markets these products.

And they have a lot of upselling like this:-

And, if the wrapping is too little to cover your whole tummy, we advocate using two skeletal wrappings (never use over two wrappings at one time) or focusing on either your lower or upper abdomen for the first treatment(s) and using our weight loss gel until you achieve your desired outcome.

About the It Works wraps and Ultimate Body Applicator

The It Works Ultimate Body Applicator , AKA body wraps, AKA that wild wrapping thing,  is a sort of a plastic wrap that you have to wrap it around the area where you would like to lose fat or tighten the skin. It claims that you would lose water from the area thus reducing your weight.

Product literature advises users to apply the Ultimate Body Applicator to different parts of the body (see image) and then wrap with “Fab Wrap” to hold the applicator in place for the 45 minute duration.

Users are instructed to reapply the product after three days (72 hours). There are four applicators in a pack so you have about 12 days worth of product if you were looking to use them consecutively.

Product marketing claims

As stated above, the company makes a number of marketing claims mostly centered about potential changes you might experience in your physical appearance, stating that you can “expect ultimate results” (whatever that means).

Specifically, the company states their body wraps can:

  • Tighten, tone, & firm
  • Minimize cellulite appearance
  • Improve skin texture & tightness
  • Show results in 45 minutes
  • Give progressive results over 72 hours

The Company claims that the body wrap uses a botanically based cream formula designed to tighten and tone your skin. Naturally, the company does not make direct claims about the efficiency of the product. It presents a symbolic representation that indicates that you lose fat within a short span of just three-quarters of an hour.

Are the claims about such weight reducing techniques true? Research has shown it otherwise. However, there is something you need to know.

You would definitely lose water for some time in the form of excessive sweat. The fat might just shift to another place only to return to the original location soon thereafter.

Besides, some user reviews are really bad:-

A user says:- I realize the business does not ensure cash-back for incorrect orders and that they enable you to send the wrong thing back for the correct, new product.. The merchandise I received was already opened, before I ever received it.. That does not precisely match the resalable, unopened, ‘new’ state” policy that It Works demands (which also brings up the issue of HOW did I receive a product that does not even match the STANDARDS for a RETURN).

The mechanism of action

The body wraps work in this manner. It can cause a temporary loss of water from the area where you use it. The sauna too works on the same principle of reducing weight through water loss.

However, in a sauna, you lose water from all parts of your body in a uniform manner. In such body wraps, there would be a temporary shift of fluids from the area of the wrap to the nearby tissues.

Hence, their graphical representation of the advertisement model claiming that her pants have become loose after using the wrap could be true for that moment alone.

It would not take long for the fluid to flow back to the area and restore the original position. The company is silent about this aspect

Additionally the primary website says the wrappings tighten, tone, firm and reduce the look of cellulite which is again not clinically proven.

They are also compared to coolsculpting but that is an entirely different concept of freezing fat, rather than burning fat.

These wrappings were invented by a lifelong interest by Dr. Luis Mijares to find a product that could help make the skin appear younger, fresher and more supple.

But how come, it has applications in weight loss? Apparently, NOT much.

Ingredients

They will exert a number of effects on the body that will cause temporary cosmetic skin tightening, moisturisation, and a bit of sweating (helped along by the physical presence of a barrier between your skin and the atmosphere.

If this sounds familiar to those thigh creams from several years ago, you’d be right. They also use similar ingredients with similar effects but, as is the case with It Works, they are only able to induce a temporary cosmetic change in the skin, not cause fat or weight loss.

It Works advertising emphasises that its products contain all “natural ingredients.” This is true, some of the ingredients are as natural, as if they came out of the ground or of the tree.

Bad customer reviews

The Company offers the product, ‘It Works’ in a pack of four, costing $99. They have an alternative solution where you can choose a box of Saran wrap for just $2.49. The advertisement gives a list of ingredients they use.

On a careful examination of the ingredients, you can conclude that these ingredients have almost no use in long-term weight loss.

This claim of selling a wrap for their wraps sounds silly. However, you can go through the customer reviews on Amazon.com where nearly 50% of the customers who have used it swearing that ‘It Works’ does not.

They also have another product. They go further in claiming that they have another solution known as the ‘Ultimate Pack’ for $465. This product includes everything from the wraps, the defining gel, sixty tablets, super nutrition pills, as well as more weight loss energy bars.

On top of all this, they claim that users would be able to get rich as well by marketing their products. This is the true objective behind this advertisement.

Overall, this is a multi-level marketing scheme. As with all multi-level marketing schemes, you can see that the top 1% in the chain make money at the cost of the gullible 99%.

Review 1

I didn’t lose quite definitely on 3 wrappings up to now, I used them JUST as it says on all the sites I read, I drank about 2 liters of water, didn’t wrap so tightly that I sweat & unlike what #10 rudely supposes, I tend not to eat junk food & i only drink water, I am a single 19 year old ACTIVE mother & I expect to lose weight on the carton of wrappings, I ‘m STILL waiting !

Review 2

For 3 months I spent a total of $350 in merchandises from It Works and none of them worked as I was told they’d or did anything close to what they were suppose to. The saleswoman told me how amazing these products were and how quickly I ‘d find outcomes, she showed me images of others who allegedly got results.

Review 3

I do suggest that everyone look over the ingredients first, particularly if you’ve got a known sensitivity or allergy. Body wraps are popular spa treatments, but before you get one, learn what claims it is possible to believe.

Review 4

I have worked in the customer service business for several years now and would never be as disrespectful to even the worst customer as these clumsy representatives were to me (I did not even behave this manner to the man who cursed me, called me many explicit names and had peed on the cash he gave me.)

Review 5

Be cautious if you’ve got depression, diabetes or liver problems when using confianza, I’ve used it and my depression within 3 days got so awful I was almost hospitalized for it, the ingredients have a danger of messing with blood sugar levels and messing with liver meds, I looked up each ingredient and yeah not super dangerous but there were warnings to be cautious about.

Review 6

I just completed my 1st package of wrappings.. I haven’t lost lots of inches perhaps 6 inches complete… but my skin appears tighter and solid, I haven’t done any strict diet but I nevertheless see effect, so far I am happy with the merchandise.

Review 7

Becoming an It Works vendor and selling It Works body wraps is definitely an incredible chance, but now it only got doubly better. It works for some, does not for others! If you used the wrappings right at 1-2 wrappings per week, drank your water and took routine, and or supplements It Works offers and you did not loose a thing AFTER 3 months, then I can see someone making a remark.

Final verdict on IT WORKS Body wraps

The company has done some out of the box marketing. Look at some of the crazy advertising materials

We do know of a girl who considers the wrappings worked for her because she’s lost 4 inches in a month; yet, in the next breath she says that she began walking 4 miles daily and observing her caloric consumption. So, Did you alter your eating habits and incorporate exercise that make it work or simply the wrappings?

If it’s your very first time using an Ultimate Body Applicator , it is recommended you just leave the Supreme Body Applicator on for 45 minutes to examine your skin’s sensitivity to the natural ingredients.

The wrappings do work for some but the results are not permanent, and needless to say like other things out there, they DON’T work for others when it comes to weight loss.

We note that some consumers think this is a weight loss product (their expectations based on their interpretation of advertising). We would therefore like for the company to be a bit more deliberate and transparent by explicitly telling their customers (or potential customers) that the products are not intended for fat or weight loss (i.e., skin tightening and localised dehydration are not the same as fat reduction).

If you are looking for skin tightening, these wraps may help.

It comes as a surprise that there are medical practitioners among the multilevel marketing chain advertising the positive aspects for weight loss, of the products to vulnerable people, desperate for weight loss.

They call themselves the ‘Wrapreneurs’. Their main objective is to catch hold of gullible people desperate to lose weight to push this product around.

They promise that the user could earn more by marketing these products among their friends and other acquaintances.

Thus, we can say that ‘It Works’  works great for these Wrapreneurs as it helps them make money at the cost of these desperate people.

It works ‘works’ for tightening the skin. Doesn’t work much for fat loss.

Hence, our advice to people looking for fat loss is that they should work on the body by doing regular exercise and maintaining a strict diet. This would work much better than the ‘It Works’.
